Hi Friends,

Sorry, it’s been so long. Life has been pretty busy. We continue in our leadership cohort with the church and with leading our group that meets at our home. We have since branched out into the community and teach art at the Farmer’s Market in Easley, our local town. This has proved to be an amazing success. People are so open to prayer and encouragement. We have purposely not been doing ‘Christian ease’ but just loving people where they are. Many are encouraged and are responding to the Gospel of love and hope. We call ourselves ‘Hope’.

The kids get involved and are happy to try their creative skills. Many of them are unbelievable artists.

They get to have stories read to them and have their faces painted. The adults get to enjoy trying out their creative skills too, and they experience something of the love of Jesus. We are at the Market every Saturday morning from 7:30 – 12 noon. We have had so much encouraging feedback from the organisers, who love having us there.

A few weeks back, we ended up on a very unplanned reunion with friends we worked with in Kyrgyzstan. The first time we’ve been together since 2007. What a gift!

We shared testimonies of all God did through us and for us and things we didn’t even know about that happened after we left.
We laughed and cried together. It was a precious time.

We flew southwest and made friends with Michael, a check-in guy who was very interested in us and thanked us for our missionary service. He was so kind and upgraded us to pre-board.

On our last evening together, I asked our friends what their dreams were for the future, and I told them that mine was to be like Kathryn Kuhlman. An incredible healing evangelist from the 1940s to the 1970s

We left the following day from Denver airport, where we noticed a rather attractive, scantily clad lady sitting not far from us. It was apparent she wanted to connect with us, and she was fluffing her hair around and looking quite seductive. I did not want to get involved with her, haha.

While we were waiting for our flight Michael the ticket agent, texted Chris and told him that he had again upgraded us to pre-board for our return flight.  So we quickly joined the small line and ended up in the third row from the front. The window seat next to me was free, and the last person to get on the plane was the lady I didn’t want to get involved with. 🙂

God had other ideas, and His intricate plans cannot be thwarted when he’s pursuing someone. She sat beside me, and I did my best to ignore her until she started talking to me. I asked her if she was Iranian, and she told me that many people think that, but it turned out she was Brazilian. I immediately said Ah! Fala Portuguese? She replied in European Portuguese, and I understood every word. We continued to chat about sourdough bread, and then she launched into one with anger towards God after seeing ‘The Sound of Freedom’. She asked me why God allowed little children to be trafficked etc. I explained about God not being a magician and the fallen world and free will. I read bible verses to her, but she said she didn’t understand the bible.

I told her she would know if The Holy Spirit lived inside her. I told her she needed to be ‘born again’. I then invited her to accept Jesus, and she said;  Yes! So, I led her to Jesus and prayed for her; she wept and felt lighter. We have connected on FB and IG. I told her she had been born again on the 26th of July, and she said, ” Oh! that’s the day I married my first husband.” I told her I was born again on the 24th of July and that it was the day I married my first husband too. We laughed and talked and became good friends. She then got off the plane in San Antonio, TX.

We stayed on the plane to go to Atlanta, and the same aircrew stayed on. The two girls were lovely Christians, and we had a great rapport with them. People started boarding for Atlanta, and a lady got in the opposite aisle seat to Chris. After we were airborne, the young mom in the middle seat was trying to get out to change her toddler’s diaper, but the lady couldn’t get up. Chris asked her what the problem was, and she told him her knees were bad and she was in so much pain. He asked if he could pray for her. After he prayed, she jumped up and told Chris she’d been healed.

I got up and asked her if she would testify, but she said she didn’t want to frighten the non-Christians. So I said that I would testify on her behalf. I asked the flight attendant if I could have the mic, and she said, “Sure, what do you want to say? ” I told her what happened and that Jesus was healing people, and I wanted to announce to everyone who needed healing that Jesus wants to heal them too.

When the gospel is preached, signs and wonders follow.  I said, “Ladies and gentlemen, Jesus just healed a lady’s legs, and He wants to heal you, too. I’m coming down the aisle and want to pray for you.” As I walked down the aisle, there was a lady wanting prayer for her hands; I felt the power of God as I prayed, and she was healed. Other people wanted prayer and cried as I prayed. A man at the front had tinnitus, and after I prayed, he put his fingers in his ears to see if the ringing was still there. It had gone! His daughter also wanted prayer; the lady with the toddler wanted prayer for her family and for being a home school mom. She cried as she felt God’s Presence.

When we got off in Atlanta, Michael, the check-in guy, was there. He was so pleased to see us, we thanked him for his kindness and told him the whole story. He was blown away.  I said, “Michael, this testimony, this story belongs to you; if you hadn’t pre-boarded us, the lady that got saved wouldn’t have gotten saved, the lady with painful knees wouldn’t have been near Chris and wouldn’t have been healed. We were amazed at how God put all that together in just a few hours and saw God’s minute details in place and the lengths He goes to get our attention and hearts. Glory to God!

Story time.

Born again at 35,000ft

A bond that lasts forever. A friendship that was strengthened through challenges.

As we continue to live our lives here healings and salvations continue in a very organic way. In the store, on the street, wherever and whenever we step into peoples’ messes. God uses us and we are so thankful.

Please pray that He will continue to do so that even in our old age we will bear fruit. (Psalm 92:14)

With love and thanks,

Linda and Chris
