I want to thank you all for your prayers and support. The whole time from start to finish went so smoothly and so well. Your prayers and love carried me.
I was in the next bed to Jane, who you may remember that I met a couple of days before when we had our blood tests. She was so pleased that we were together. Nichola was directly opposite me in the next bay, and Helen was next to her to my right.
The atmosphere was one of peace and calm although Helen was understandably afraid, and this became apparent in the way she was a bit difficult to deal with for the doctors and nurses. I guess it’s understandable though as she also has a tumour and was angry and frightened.
Nichola came back from the theatre after surgery, and after a couple of hours, we got talking when she was more awake. In the meantime, Helen went down for hers. I told Nichola my testimony of how I came to know Jesus. She was amazed and pleased to hear about how God is so real.
Jane went down for surgery after that and Helen was back on the ward recovering. I was the last to go, and it was obvious that God had ordered it in this way as I was able to speak to each lady and pray for them.
Helen recovered by the evening time and was all ready to leave. I asked her if I could pray for her. It was so precious to see this young lady come to Jesus in complete faith and trust and to allow me to pray for healing. She had been quite harsh to the staff, but after praying, she ended up in a heap of tears before God the Father. 🙂
Francis was from the next bay and was walking in and out of the wards. I felt like she had been there a few days and learned after talking with her that she couldn’t urinate and you can’t leave until you do. She hadn’t been for two days and was told to walk around. I asked if I could pray for her, and as I prayed, she fell into a heap of tears. I told her that she had encountered Jesus. She said, “Yes, I did” and smiled at me. An hour later, she was completely well and was dressed to go home.
Jane and I stayed overnight, and we fast became good friends. She took my phone number and asked me to stay in touch.
I have never experienced so much kindness and caring love. The nurses and doctors were wonderful, and I was treated like royalty. I also didn’t need to take one pain medication. I am so thankful for our NHS here and so grateful to God for all He has done for me.
Blessings, thanks and love to you all who have prayed me through this time. I am due for my follow-up tomorrow with the breast clinic.
And Yay! We are finally completing the sale of the cottage after tomorrow. Everything has dovetailed in so precisely. We will fly back to Portugal next week.
I never did find out what the breathlessness was, but I had a chest Xray which was clear. So, it’s still a bit of a mystery. As I haven’t heard any more about it, I’m reticent to ask as I want to go back home to Portugal. We are tired of moving around, sleeping rough and travelling.
Thanks again faithful friends,
Love Linda and Chris
