“They say Aslan is on the move-perhaps has already landed.”
I don’t know about you, but I feel as if I’m in Narnia where it’s always winter and never Christmas, despite the hot summer.
It’s exciting to see Portugal coming back to life. Our village is full of the sounds of people, families eating ‘Al Fresco’ and celebrating life together. It’s the reason we were born—Fellowship with the Creator and with each other.
We have had so many encounters on the beach since we last wrote. One that will remain very memorable to me (Linda) was a few weeks back when I fell flat on my face. I was walking along the boardwalk as usual, but one of the planks had lifted due to the damp. I didn’t notice it and caught my toes underneath it. It was most traumatic for me, and it took ages for my chest to heal. I eventually was covered in bruises, but miraculously I still had all my teeth, and my face was untouched. It was quite astounding how God protected me. I am so grateful. One Portuguese lady saw me fall and came to ask if I was alright. She was very concerned about me. We eventually went on our way and continued our walk. On the way back, she was there at the place where I fell. We got talking again, and by this time her husband was with her too. She was pleased to see I was alright. She told Chris that she had come to the beach for yogic healing. Chris pointed her in the direction of the only healer, and she burst into tears. At this point, I was talking to her husband. He was so surprised at his wife’s emotional outburst and was a bit perplexed. They went off for a coffee, and she told him all about her encounter with God. She contacted us on messenger to say thank you a few days later, and if they are back this way, they will contact us.
Praying for Reuben’s knee
I heard God say that this man has a knee injury as I walked by him. He was concentrating on his fishing line and was taken aback when I asked if he had a problem with his knee. Reuben told me he had an old sports injury so I asked if I could pray for him and put my hand on his knee. He was very happy to have me do that. I blessed him and told him that God knows him, and he thanked me and went back to his fishing. It’s just amazing how open the Portuguese people are to prayer and prophecy. No social distancing here 🙂
Meet Jose, Cristina and daughter Luisinha. This family, along with their older sons Filipe and Luis, are our dear friends and summer neighbours. Their holiday home backs on to us, and we are very close in proximity with each other and have become good friends. We have prophesied in the past very accurately over Cristina who is very open and in our opinion near to becoming an evangelical believer in Jesus. Her mother died a few weeks ago, and she has asked us to pray for her privately in the coming week.
We are looking forward to praying and seeing what God is doing in her life.
This week we also got to pray for Jose’s cousins when they came to lunch. They asked us to pray for them, which was great as we don’t wish to come across as the ‘big ministers’. We just want to love people into the Kingdom.
Cristina, Luisinha and Jose
Another couple of quick testimonies. I saw a couple of young girls about 20ish walking towards me. They looked similar, and God whispered to me; gemos which means twins in Portuguese. I stopped them and asked them if they were twins but they said “No!” I then started to prophesy over them about being a double blessing and how much God was intimately involved in their lives. They were blown away. As I had finished speaking Marlene told me that she has a twin and so does Ninka her friend. Now, I was blown away. I told them that I had heard God say the word ‘twins’ (gemeos) to me. What a blessing it is even when we think we heard wrong and God says it was absolutely right.
A lady was walking along the same path as us, close to the shoreline, we were watching the little kids pulling their huge surf boards into the sea, we looked at each other marveling at how kids so little could manage such a huge surf board. I guess it’s the first thing they need to learn before surfing. We got chatting to the lady, I felt she looked sad and as I was walking away I felt Holy Spirit say that I should tell her how much she is loved. She didn’t speak any English which made it a little difficult to have an in depth conversation, but nevertheless God had me speak simple words to her about how much He adores her and loves her. She burst into tears and then went on to tell me that she had lost her 28yr old son five years ago to cancer. She said life was difficult living without him. I comforted her. I had wished there was more I could have said but with my limited Portuguese I felt inept. I know God has a plan for her though.
“Is he quite safe?……”Safe? Who said anything about safe? Course he isn’t safe. But He’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Aslan is on the move in spite of what’s going on. Don’t miss Him!
God bless you all until the next time.
With our love,
Linda and Chris
